How much does cremation with a visitation cost in Chicago?

Our Cremation with Visitation package is $4,950. The county cremation permit and filing ($200), the cremation container ($160), a temporary urn ($25) and sales tax on the container and urn ($18.96) are added, for a total of $5,353.96. Certified death certificates, if you need them, are $40 for the first copy and $20 for each additional copy.

What is the difference between Family Farewell and Cremation with Visitation?

Family Farewell ($1,997) is one private hour for close family and friends at our funeral home, with minimal preparation and a rental casket. Cremation with Visitation ($4,950) is up to 4 hours for everyone you invite, at our funeral home or your church, with embalming, a register book, a tribute video and 50 prayer cards.

Is a casket included?

Yes. A rental casket is included for the visitation. The cremation takes place afterward in a cremation container.

Is embalming required in Illinois?

No. Illinois does not require embalming. It is included in Cremation with Visitation because the visitation is open to family and friends for up to 4 hours. Family Farewell does not include embalming.

Can the visitation be held at our church?

Yes. The visitation can be held at our funeral home in Irving Park or at your church. Call us and we’ll arrange it with your church.

Can we have a funeral Mass before the cremation?

Yes. Many Catholic families hold the visitation and the funeral Mass with the body present, then the cremation afterward, as the Church prefers. See Catholic funeral Mass and burial.

What happens after the visitation?

We bring your loved one back into our care for the individual cremation. The cremated remains are picked up at our funeral home at 3521 N. Pulaski Rd. If you can’t come in person, ask us about secure shipping.

Can we choose an urn?

Yes. A temporary urn is included in the total, and you can choose a permanent urn from our collection, starting at $95, now or later.
