A clear view of the cost

Simple Cremation starts at $997. Your total depends on the service you choose, the required items, the number of death certificates and any additional services your family needs. Our pricing page lists each charge and includes a calculator to help you estimate the total.

Example: a simple cremation after a hospital death with four certified death certificates comes to $1,500.96, including the package, the county permit, the alternative container, a temporary urn, the certificates and tax on merchandise. A removal from a home or nursing home ($295) or other services change the total. Water Cremation starts at $1,897 and the Family Farewell Option at $1,997.

1. We receive your arrangement. Our team reviews the information you provide.

2. You sign the forms electronically. Right after payment, we email the release form, the death certificate information worksheet and the cremation authorization to sign on your phone or computer. You can come back to them later, and no printing is needed.

3. We guide you through the remaining steps. We contact you about anything else that is needed, file the cremation permit and death certificate, and keep you informed.

RECEIVING THE CREMATED REMAINS

How the cremated remains reach your family

When the cremation is complete, we call to let you know. You can pick up the cremated remains at our funeral home at 3521 N. Pulaski Rd. in Chicago. If you live out of state, we ship them through the U.S. Postal Service, the only legal way to mail cremated remains, with tracking. Families in DuPage, Will and Lake counties receive complimentary delivery.

If a relative closer to Chicago will receive the cremated remains, tell us when you arrange and we will plan for it.

Do I need to visit an office?

No. You can arrange everything online or by phone, and the forms are signed electronically. If you would rather meet in person, you are welcome at one of our offices in Evanston, Northbrook, Naperville or Chicago’s Irving Park neighborhood. Call us and we will set a time that suits you.

Can I arrange care if I live outside Illinois?

Yes. The person arranging can live anywhere. What matters is where your loved one is: we provide care across the Chicago area, including Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, Kane, Kendall, McHenry, Grundy and Kankakee counties in Illinois and Lake County, Indiana.

What information do I need before starting?

Your phone number and email address, your loved one’s full legal name, where your loved one is now, your relationship to them, and contact details for anyone else who may need to take part. If you are not sure what to provide, call us and we will help.

Can I stop and come back later?

Yes. You do not have to finish in one sitting. You can come back to the forms later, and you can call (773) 866-2273 at any hour if you need help.
