On Wednesday June 1st, 2022, Maija Kroeger, loving Daughter, Sister, and Aunt passed away at the age of 51. Maija was born on November 2nd, 1970 in La Grange, IL to Susan Emmons Kroeger and Harry Kroeger. She received a degree from the University of Illinois, a Masters in Creative Writing from Purdue University, and a degree in nursing from University of Illinois at Chicago. She practiced nursing for 10 years at both Norwegian American Hospital and Northwestern Medicine. Maija was known for her love of travel and adventure; she was a member of the Peace Corps from 2003-2005 working in Niger, Africa. She loved reading, collecting books, as well as writing short stories. She had a respect for all living things and was an avid volunteer at local animal shelters. She is survived by her parents, her sisters Renee and Danielle, and their children Jon, Katie, Alex, and Aiden, as well as her dog Maddie, and cat Horatio.
