William "Billy" Gentry, a loving, funny, and friendly man, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Chicago, IL on April 20, 2023, at the age of 64.

Billy was born on April 3, 1959, in Chicago, IL to the late Archene Gailey. He was a proud and lifelong resident of the Windy City, always eager to share his favorite spots and hidden gems with friends and family. His infectious laughter and warm personality made him a beloved figure in his West Chatham community.

Billy was a dedicated and hardworking employee of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile for his colleagues.

In his free time, Billy was an avid sports fan, always rooting for his beloved Chicago Cubs and Bulls. He also enjoyed playing slot machines, listening to good music and spending time outdoors with his family and friends. His sense of humor and love for life were evident in all that he did, and he never missed an opportunity to make those around him laugh.

Billy is survived by his loving cousins, Charles and Stacey Arrington, who were like siblings to him and a host of other family and friends. He was a cherished family member and friend to many, always there to lend a helping hand or share a laugh. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
