Vlado was born on June 9, 1960 to Tomo and Lucija in Breza, at the time, Yugoslavia. He was the youngest of four siblings. He studied in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia, after which he returned to Breza, met his future wife Tatjana Subotic, and had his first child, Marko, in 1989.

Sponsored by All Saints Catholic Parish in Montgomery Township, Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. Oroz arrived on the Feast Day of St. Joseph, patron saint of fathers, families and immigrants, June 13, 2001. Welcomed by his new community of faith, Mr. Oroz began to transition his young family ages 5, 12 and 32. Sworn in some 5 years later, they all became naturalized citizens in 2006. Vlado was married for 33 years to Tatjana Subotic Oroz.

Vlado visited family and friends in Bosnia and Croatia after naturalization for special celebrations and weddings. He was lively, gregarious, and much all who knew him and according to his daughter, was sassy, kind-hearted, brilliant, generous, and resilient. In Cincinnati, he worked for Woodhouse Day Spa and enjoyed time with friends in Cleveland, Northern Kentucky, and St. Louis as well as Cincinnati.
