Obituary

Toby Higginbotham passed away on January 25, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by strength, heart, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved.

For over 20 years, Toby proudly served as a Chicago Firefighter. He answered every call with courage and steady resolve, always willing to step into danger so others could be safe. Being a Firefighter wasn't just what he did—it was who he was. He carried the brotherhood of the firehouse with deep pride and honor.

Toby was so many things—strong, stubborn, protective, passionate—but above all, he was heart. The kind of heart that showed up, stood firm, and loved deeply.

He was the devoted father of Jonas Alexander, who was his pride and joy. He is also survived by his loving partner, Therese, and his beloved dog, Lola, who brought him constant comfort and companionship.

He was survived by his sister, Billie, whom he loved dearly.

He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved deeply.

Outside of his service, Toby embraced life with energy and spirit. He had a deep love for music—especially the Chicago disco days—which brought him joy and kept his rhythm alive. He also loved game shows, especially The Price Is Right, calling it the happiest show on television.

To know Toby was to know strength, loyalty, laughter, and a fierce kind of love that never wavered. His presence was steady, his spirit unforgettable, and his love enduring.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always carried in the hearts of those who loved him.

T, I will Always Love You!
