Timothy Byron Bitner, 56, died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois on September 10, 2024.

Tim was born in Racine, Wisconsin to Janace and William Thurmond. The family relocated to Central Illinois where Tim was raised alongside his siblings: Gary, Monnie, Steve and Cliff. Tim graduated from Spoon River Valley High School in 1985 before joining the United States Army. Tim was Honorably Discharged in December of 1991. Tim then spent time working for the Illinois Department of Corrections before beginning his eventual career in construction. Tim loved working with his hands, telling stories, spending time with his dogs, and gardening.

Tim is survived by his mother, Janace Bitner; his siblings, Gary Bitner, Monnie Tafflinger, Steve Bitner and Cliff Bitner; his sons, Zach Bitner, Nick Bitner and Ryan Bitner; and his three grandchildren.
