Sonea Edith Alvarado Rosario, affectionately known as Sonia, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Born on June 22, 1954, also in Chicago, Sonia's life was a tapestry of creativity, love, and kindness that touched the hearts of everyone she knew.

Sonia's journey began as a bright light in the bustling city of Chicago, where she grew up surrounded by the love and laughter of her family. Her creative spirit was evident from an early age, and she carried that spark throughout her life, infusing it into every aspect of her being. Sonia's passion for reading and her fascination with crime shows were just a few of the interests that kept her mind active and her conversations lively.

As a loving mother to Heidi and Eileen, Sonia instilled in her daughters the values of compassion and generosity. She was a guiding force in their lives, always there with a kind word and a creative solution to any problem.

Her influence extended to her cherished grandchildren, Odelia, Alyssa, Delilah, and Sebastian, whom she adored and who brought her immeasurable joy. The legacy of her love continued to flourish with the arrival of her great-grandsons, Jerry, James, Antonio, Augustus, Josiah, and Jaden, each of whom she welcomed with open arms and an open heart.

Sonia's siblings Maritza, (predecessor)Luis and Nilsa, shared in the many cherished memories and moments that made up Sonia's remarkable life. Her presence was a gift to her family, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
