Shawn Alan Mikus, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away on October 2, 2024, at the age of 38 in Chicago, IL. Born on July 10, 1986, in Richmond, IN, Shawn was known for his kind heart, creative spirit, and gentle demeanor, which touched the lives of many.

A proud graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington, where Shawn earned his Bachelor's degree in Journalism. He earned his Master's degree at DePaul University, but always remained a Hoosier at heart.

Shawn's professional journey was marked by his dedication and creative flair, which he brought to his roles at Octagon Media and Creative Artists Agency. His work not only exemplified his talent but also his commitment to excellence in the field of media and public relations. Colleagues and clients alike will remember Shawn for his innovative ideas and his ability to bring people together.

Shawn's interests extended beyond his professional endeavors. He was an avid sports fan, with a particular devotion to the Indianapolis 500, Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Bears. His love for his teams was infectious, and game days were always a special occasion for Shawn. He also cherished the Indiana Hoosiers, and his loyalty to his home state's team was unwavering. He enjoyed traveling and sampling new restaurants with a critic's eye for excellent food and service.

Shawn's family was the cornerstone of his life and filled with the loving guidance of his late parents, Mollie J. Mikus and Paul A. Mikus. He is survived by his older brother, Ryan Mikus (Natasha), niece Abby, and nephew Andrew. He will be missed.
