Russell D. Long, known affectionately as Russ, passed away on July 12, 2023, in Chicago, Illinois. Born on November 9, 1969, in Dixon, Illinois, Russ was a man of intelligence, creativity, and adventure, who touched the lives of many with his humor and thoughtfulness.

Russ was lovingly raised by his parents, the late Kenneth and Tresa Long. He shared a special bond with his brothers, Scott and Dan Long. Scott preceded him in death, leaving behind a legacy of love and fond memories. Russ was a cherished uncle to Tyler, Hannah, and Easton Long and a treasured brother-in-law to Angie and Jaime Long. He is also survived by several close aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A proud graduate of the University of Illinois, Russ held a Bachelor's degree that paved the way for his successful career. He served as the Vice President of Operations at Northern Trust Bank for 26 years, where his intelligence and dedication were highly valued.

Russ's zest for life was evident in his varied interests. A music enthusiast, he enjoyed watching live bands and playing his own instruments, particularly the guitar. His adventurous spirit led him to explore new cities, restaurants, and museums. He loved Chicago and liked riding his bike throughout the city.

Russ was a man of many talents, but his sense of humor stood out the most. He was quick to share a funny story or joke, often leaving his friends and family in stitches. Russ's loyalty was another significant aspect of his personality. He was always ready to help family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
