Obituary

Roger Alan Dosemagen, age 73, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, February 8th, after living courageously with Parkinson's Disease. Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, nephew, brother and uncle. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Patricia "Pattie" Seitz for 41 years until her passing in 2022. Their bond brings comfort to those who knew and loved them.

Roger was a proud father to Kari Tewalt (Keith) and Devon Griggs (Kevin), and a wonderful grandfather to Adison, Miela, Tyler, Emily, and Ethan. He is survived by his brother, Mike Dosemagen, his sister, Mary Jo Spreeberg (Bill), nephews (Bryan and Adam) and nieces (Keli and Tami). Roger was a descendant of the Dosemagen and Moe-Case families, founders of Union Grove in Racine County.

Born and raised in Sturtevant, Roger graduated from J.I. Case High School in 1970 and U.W. Parkside in the 1990s. His commitment to community was evident through his years of service on the Mount Pleasant Planning Commission. He spent his entire career with S.C. Johnson in Racine.

An outdoor enthusiast, Roger completed six 50-mile Ice Age Trail runs, four 50K Glacial Trail runs, hiked the Grand Canyon, canoed the Boundary Waters, rock climbed, biked several tours with Pattie, and played golf on dozens of courses. He was known for his love of walking family dogs - eight over 39 years - often walking several at a time and always greeting neighbors with a wave.

Roger's passion extended to building, from his deck and shed to a floor-to-ceiling sci-fi library. As a dedicated sports fan, he always had a game on and was a loyal supporter and stockholder of the Packers, as well as an avid Badgers and Brewers fan.

Celebrated for his storytelling, sharp wit, and imaginative spirit, Roger leaves behind a loving family and countless stories that will live on for generations. His life was a testament to love, adventure, and community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
