Robert M. Wolf, age 91, passed away on Monday, December 26 2022. He was born on September 23, 1931,in Chicago Illinois. But he also spent the previous 25 years In Poissy, France, near Paris and only recently returned here to Chicago after his wife's passing.

Robert was predeceased by his loving wife of 25 years, Ingrid Lombard. He is survived by his children, Mark (Deidre) Wolf, Blake Wolf, Brad Wolf and David Cantatore. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Justin Wolf, Penelope Wolf, Alex Wolf, Georgia Wolf, Sam Wolf, Chloe Cantatore and Clara Cantatore.

Robert was born and raised in Chicago. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952 where he completed his education and received his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degrees from Northwestern University.

He was married to Roberta Beck in the late 1950's who bore him 3 sons, Mark, Blake and Brad.

He worked at Niles Township High Schools for the remainder of his career. He coached baseball, basketball and the debate team. It was as a teacher and as the coach of the debating team where he forged many close relationships with his students and some of these students were able to see him in his very last days.

He met the love of his life, Ingrid Lombard, and he moved to France to be with her in 1996.

Robert loved literature, especially poetry, jazz music, drinking wine, sports, and living in France: A dream come true for him.

He was greatly admired by friends and family for his insights, intelligence, warmth, humor and generosity. He was greatly loved and will be consequently greatly missed.

There will be a Memorial Service at Theis-Gorski Funeral Home 3517 N. Pulaski Rd Chicago, IL 60641. January 7, 10:00 - 2:00. There will be a small ceremony around 11:30 to share memories, thoughts, and reflections about him and his life.
