Robert L. Pollard, 77, of Mendota, IL, passed away on November 29, 2025 at VA Hines Hospital, Chicago. Bob was born in Pana, IL on December 8, 1947 and served in the army from 1967-69. He married Carolyn (Buettner) on July 3, 1970. Bob spent most of his life working at Motor Wheel in Mendota, but once the plant closed he held jobs as a cook, custodian, and bus driver. He also helped at the Octave Restaurant which was owned and operated by his wife Carolyn 1980-1992.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Annie Short of Mendota, sisters Billie (Richard) Stremmel of Toluca, Patty (Tom) of Princeton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Juanita and Eddie May, brother Clarence, and wife.

Public visitation will be 1:00-2:00pm, Tues. December 23 at LaMoille United Methodist Church. 73 N Main St, La Moille, IL 61330. Funeral service will follow at 2pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to St. Paul's Cemetery or VFW Post 4079.
