Robert Russell Pennor, affectionately known as Bob to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, at the age of 79, in his home in Romeoville, Illinois which he shared with his wife of 55 years, Carolyn (Lines)

Pennor. Born on June 16, 1945, in Boston, Bob was a beacon of creativity and a source of joy to those who knew him throughout his vibrant life. His courageous battle with cancer displayed his enduring strength and the grace with which he lived his life until the very end. Bob grew up in Boston, where the city's rich history and cultural tapestry influenced his path in life. He was a proud alumnus of Boston English High School and further honed his artistic talents at The Art Institute of Boston. An esteemed fine arts painter and illustrator, Also a proud US Marine. Bob's work was a reflection of his passion for beauty and expression. His legacy in the art community is marked not only by the captivating pieces he created but also by the wisdom he imparted as a teacher of art techniques, shaping the skills and lives of aspiring artists. His dedication to art was paralleled only by his love for music. A self-taught musician, Bob brought life to many family gatherings with his piano and guitar performances, creating memories that will be cherished forever. His melodies were as heartfelt as his paintings, each note and brushstroke a testament to the love he had for his craft. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Frank H. Pennor, his mother, Doris (Noseworthy) Pennor, and his brother, Carl S. Pennor. He leaves behind his beloved sister, Roberta R. VanGuilder and his adoring wife Carolyn L. Pennor. Bob also leaves a legacy through his nieces Krista, Karyn, Danielle, Christine, and Carolyn, and his nephews Carl and Andrew, who will carry forward his artistic spirit and the memories of the joyous times shared. Bob's life was one of creation and inspiration. His art and music were not merely hobbies but extensions of his soul, reflecting the depth of his character and the breadth of his talents. His absence will be profoundly felt by all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his work and his warm, generous spirit. As we say farewell to Robert R. Pennor, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on this world. His paintings and melodies will resonate as enduring reminders of a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
