It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Lane, age 65, who left us peacefully on December 11, 2024. He was born in Columbus, Mississippi, to Arthur and Roberta Lane. He lived in Tennessee before moving to Illinois in his later years.

A graduate of Cumberland University, Robert earned his bachelor's degree in Biology. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Number 436, in Westmoreland, Tennessee. He was a husband to Anna Lane, and a father to four children: Tammy, Jasper (deceased 2023), Jordan, and Taylor. He is survived by two older brothers, Richard and Roger Lane.

Robert found solace in simple pleasures. He had a love for fishing at Cane Fork River, Starved Rock, and Old Hickory. He spent his later years gardening vegetables and canning preserves, along with wine-making.

An unwavering companion to his family dog, Sasha, Robert spent his mornings and evenings watching wrestling and old western shows with her by his side. It was a comforting routine that added joy to the quiet moments of his life.
