Obituary

Robert "Bob" Johnson, III, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished son and brother, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2023, in his hometown of Highland Park, IL, after a brave battle with Signet-ring cell carcinoma of the appendix. He was born on April 17, 1967, creating a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be remembered by his family and friends.

Bob was a proud graduate of Illinois State University, where he earned his degree and started his journey into the professional world. He spent a significant part of his career at The Popcorn Factory. His dedication and hard work were well recognized, and he made many lifelong friends during his tenure there.

Married to his loving wife, Paula (Bates) Johnson, Bob was a family man through and through. He was the proud father of two daughters, Gwen and Ramona Johnson, who were the apples of his eye. He was also the cherished son of Gloriajean Johnson and the late Robert Johnson, Jr., and a beloved brother to Bonnie Johnson. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he always made sure to prioritize them above all else.

Bob's favorite pastime was enjoying the warm summer weather. He was an avid boater, often seen zipping through the Chain of Lakes in his jet boat. He cherished these moments with family and friends.

Family dinners were a tradition in the Johnson household. Bob believed in the importance of family time and made sure to have dinner with his family every night. These were the moments he treasured the most, filled with laughter, love, and lively conversations.

Bob will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. His memory will forever be a beacon of love, joy, and inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial open house and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 16. Please reach out to the family if you'd like details.
