Richard Eugene Banks, known affectionately as Dick by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on March 13, 1934, Dick lived a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for his work, and an insatiable curiosity that touched all who knew him.

Dick's family was his greatest source of joy; his sons Thomas (predeceased) and James, and his daughter, Laura. Dick's legacy continues through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values and stories he shared.

For over half a century, Dick dedicated his career to Illinois Bell, and was a proud and active member of his union, IBEW 134. The passion he had for his work was shared through the stories he shared with his family.
