Obituary

Beloved sisters and brothers in Christ, today we gather in fond remembrance of a precious soul, the esteemed Quinessa Victoria "Vicki" Miller, who was called to the Lord's heavenly garden on December 26, 2023. Born on a crisp winter's day, January 14, 1971, in the nurturing city of Chicago, Illinois, Vicki emerged into this world with a spirit as vibrant as the dawn.

Vicki's journey through this life was a testament to her love for people and her unwavering faith. A devout disciple of Christ, she lived her life with an open heart, ready to embrace one and all with kindness, warmth, and boundless generosity. She blessed this world with her presence for fifty-two joy-filled years, and in that time, her impact was mighty.

An alumna of Southern New Hampshire University, Vicki carried with her a passion for understanding the human experience. With a degree in Sociology, she dedicated herself to serving others, reflecting the Lord's grace through acts of charity and kindness. Her spirit, kind and friendly, wove a tapestry of love and joy through the lives she touched.

Vicki found solace and peace in the tranquility of her garden, where her hands worked to cultivate beauty in the earth as a reflection of the beauty she fostered in life. She served the Lord with every breath, imprinting His teachings not just in her own heart, but also in the hearts of all those around her.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved daughters, Tessa and Jada Jenkins; her adored grandchildren, Mason Jenkins and Kara Hairston; her dear goddaughters, Alexis "Lex" Hairston, Nevaeh Brown, and Faith Donaldson; and her treasured godparents, Rose and Jerry Taylor. Each one is shaped by her love, her teachings, and her spirited example of a life well-lived.

Though we bid farewell to Vicki, whose light on this earth has dimmed, we can find comfort, in knowing she has been welcomed into an eternal home. Chicago will remember her as a daughter who made her mark with tender care and compassionate acts. Today, while we mourn the loss of this luminary, let us celebrate her journey to eternal rest, where she now tends to the gardens of paradise alongside the angels. Vicki's departure, following a bout with respiratory and cardiac arrest, may mark the end of her earthly chapter, but her story will be told for generations, a narrative of love echoing in eternity.

We commend our dear Vicki to the Almighty's embrace, and in the same breath, we recognize that her spirit lives on—within each one of us. May she rest in the heavenly peace she so richly deserves.
