Obituary

Prudence L. Flexman, 82, of Willow Springs, passed away Monday, October 7th, 2024. She grew up in Lyons IL, graduating from Morton East High School in 1960. She spent the majority of her adult years with her husband and 2 children in Western Springs.

If there is one singular word to describe Prudy it's strength. Her strength was incomparable. She bravely fought Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years. Despite this illness, she never let it dim her spirit. She remained active in her community, and all things that brought her and others joy. She was the ultimate Chicago sports fan, no game to ever be missed, she loved tennis, reading and spending time with her loved ones. And she loved and was loved so fiercely, by all who knew her. Despite her illness her faith never wavered, and she kept her spirit through all things.

She was a cherished friend, but her biggest and proudest accomplishment in this life was that of an adored wife, mother, and grandmother. We could not have asked for better in this lifetime. She is preceded in death by beloved husband Don Flexman. The love and life that was shared between Don and Prudy cannot be encompassed in a few words, but it brins to all that knew and loved them, that they are finally together again. She is also preceded in death by her brother John Gervase, as well as her parents Lena and George Gervase. She is survived by her 2 beloved daughters, Lisa Skubal (Dave Meeks) and Sue Spear (John Spear), her 3 treasured grandchildren, Katie Skubal, Caroline Skubal and Jeff Spear, her sister Josephine Wozniak, as well as her nieces and nephews. Prudy was undoubtedly the best mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law and friend anyone could ask for. Her biggest priority in this life was always making sure her family was okay, it's what always mattered most to her. She will be so profoundly missed - her laughter, her warmth, her kindness and her love. Not a day will go by that we will not think of her and miss her.

As Elvis Presley once said "Where the charming roses bloom forever

And where separations come no more. If we never meet again this side of Heaven I will meet you on that beautiful shore"
