Priscilla Joy
Charron
May 25, 1959 — Aug 8, 2025
Priscilla Joy (PJ) Charron (born Paterson), passed away with grace and dignity on August 8, 2025 at the age of 66 in her longtime home of Evanston, IL. She fought hard until the very end to stay with the people she loved most. PJ was born on May 25, 1959 in Detroit, MI and embodied all the best Gemini qualities. She loved growing up in Michigan and was the proudest Downriver girl. She was strong, funny, and loved fiercely.
After college at Ferris State University, PJ first moved to Houston, TX and began her career in television and radio advertising. Her humorous experiences led to many wonderful memories and stories. She moved to Chicago, IL and continued her advertising and creative work. She loved Chicago and its history. She stayed in the area for the rest of her life.
PJ loved reading, going to concerts and plays, and walking along the lake. She enjoyed collecting vintage items, making jewelry, cuddling with the dog, Impressionist artwork, lilacs, dark chocolate, and old black and white movies. She could talk on the phone for hours and was known to all as a loyal friend. But PJ and her life cannot be summarized because she was so many things to so many different people. She was special and made everyone around her feel special too.
PJ is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years Brian, children who adored her Nora and John, son-in-law Kieran, her father Ian, and Sandy, Jeff, and Craig Paterson. She is reunited in death with her mother Yolande and many other loved ones. Her family was her greatest joy, she will be missed every single day but always and forever loved and cherished. A memorial gathering will be planned at a later date. May her beautiful soul rest easy and in peace.
