Paul Schoedel died at Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois on December 24, 2023. Paul was born in Chicago on May 6, 1960 and is survived by his parents William and Grace Schoedel of Urbana, his sister Ruth Schoedel Book (Thomas) of Urbana, and his brother Carl Schoedel (Lisa) of Geneva. Also surviving are his daughter Katelyn Schoedel (Ryan Offord) of Evanston, his son Daniel W. Schoedel (Jillian) of Schiller Park, two grandchildren: Jason Wilms and Daniel J. Schoedel of Schiller Park, and former wives: Karna Flygare (Wilms) of Schiller Park and Sharon Kohli of Madison, Wisconsin.

Paul was a graduate of Urbana High School. He attended Calvin College, earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Illinois and a Master's of Business Administration from the Olin School of Business at Washington University. Paul worked as a Financial Planner in the airline industry for most of his career, including engagements at Northwest Airlines and United Airlines.

Paul loved to jog, golf, play poker and in his later years ride the CTA.

Paul became an organ donor upon his death. No funeral service is planned.
