Patricia
Easley
Mar 20, 1960 — Dec 1, 2023
Patricia Ann Easley, affectionately known as Pat, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023, at the age of 63, in her hometown of Chicago, IL. Born on March 20, 1960, to Inez Nelson-Parks and the late Emmanuel Nelson, Pat's journey was one of love, dedication, and boundless creativity.
Pat grew up in Chicago, where she attended Gresham elementary school and graduated from Calumet High School. A lifelong learner and an exceptionally hard worker, she built a fulfilling career at Lake County Health North Hospital in Waukegan, IL, where she served the community for a decade. Later, Pat brought her warmth and diligence to Burlington department store in Gurnee, IL. Her professional path was put on pause only when the health of her beloved husband, Franklin Easley, necessitated her full-time care and support.
Married to Franklin until his passing, Pat was a cornerstone of strength and love within her family. She leaves behind her cherished mother, Inez Nelson-Parks, and is predeceased by her father, Emmanuel Nelson, sisters Veronica White and Jacqueline Harper, and brothers Michael Nelson and Emmanuel Nelson Jr. She is
survived by her devoted sisters, Mena Stubbs and Myra Lisa Nelson-Amusu. Pat was a proud and loving mother to her daughters, Inez Hill (Marcus) and Myra Anderson, and she delighted in the joys of being a grandmother to Brianna Carpenter, Jamyra Townsend, Jason Hill Jr., Christopher Hurd, Danielle Williams, Darnell Williams, and Mylah Carpenter. Her legacy extends to a myriad of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a close-knit circle of friends and loved ones who will sorely miss her vibrant spirit.
Pat's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with her interests and passions. She was a loving, caring, and remarkably empathetic soul, always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need. Her artistic flair was evident in the crafts she created and the beauty she brought into the world. Pat had an unmistakable style,
favoring gold jewelry, jeans, and her signature Farrah Fawcett curls that complemented her blonde hair. Her laughter was often heard during conversations with family and in the quiet moments spent watching her favorite television shows.
Pat's love for her grandchildren knew no bounds. They were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. Her home was a haven of warmth, where stories were shared, creativity flourished, and memories were made. She instilled in her family the values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of holding onto joy even in the most challenging times.
As we say farewell to Patricia Ann Easley, we celebrate a life extraordinarily lived and the many hearts she touched. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her influence will live on in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Though her journey on earth has concluded, the love she shared will continue to ripple through the generations of her family and the friendships she cherished.
A private celebration of Pat's life will be held by her family. Her final resting place will be in the city she loved and called home, Chicago, IL, surrounded by the memories of a life lived with fullness and grace. As we reflect on Pat's life, we are reminded to embrace each day with the same generosity and passion that she did. Her story is one of unwavering love and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
Dearest Pat…
They say the best laid plans are when something goes awry.
And I know it's not the ones we made, because I'm talking to the sky.
Unexpectedly you left this Earth, But in God we do still trust.
Because he gave us all a second chance when he brought you back to us. Your story is one with bumps and turns, some will say a cautionary tale. But your redemption era is an epic for the ages, a narrative worthy to tell. Examining the chapters of our journey, future, past… them both.
You've taught me lessons in healing, through our episodes of growth.
I wish that I had one last time, I'll often wonder if you ever knew.
You have helped to restore a part of the child within, that could only be healed by you. Forever, we will remember your grandiose smile & your contagious laughter. Knowing we will all reunite again someday, perhaps in the ever-after. Today I think of you out loud, because quiet was never your hurdle.
But I pray that you rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord, who has brought us all full circle.
Love,
Beverly Mims
The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly.
In death; we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will-link again.
Love,
Nez, Brianna, Jason, Jamyra, and Mylah
