Obituary

Nicole Marie Renshaw, affectionately known as Coco to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Palatine, IL. Born on January 24, 1974, in the vibrant city of Chicago, IL, Nicole's life was a testament to her loving nature, selfless spirit, and delightful sense of humor that touched everyone she met.

Nicole spent an admirable 30 years of her career soaring the skies as a dedicated flight attendant with American Airlines. Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her devotion to her family and her faith. A devout Catholic, Nicole's beliefs guided her through life with grace and compassion, and her kindness was a beacon of light to all who knew her.

She brought warmth and beauty into the world not only through her personality but also through her passions. An avid gardener, Nicole could often be found with her hands in the soil, nurturing plants to bloom with the same care she gave to those around her. Her love for cooking provided countless memorable family gatherings, filled with laughter and the comforting scents of her delicious recipes. Nicole also had an impeccable eye for decorating, her home a welcoming sanctuary adorned with love and a reflection of her exquisite taste. She also loved being a mom to Jacob and Jenna. She was a gentle and understanding mom who loved her children unconditionally.

Nicole's legacy is carried on by her beloved husband, John Renshaw. Her spirit lives on through her children, Jacob and Jenna Schmidt, who will forever cherish the unconditional love and invaluable lessons she instilled in them. Nicole's sister, Diana Bahena, brother-in-law, Fabian Bahena, and their children, Penelope and Jax, will hold her dear in their memories. She was a treasured member of the extended Heiman family, including her cousins Kelly, Jennifer, Kimberly, Kirk, Kenny, Ronny, Chrissy, Adam, and Aunt Donna, Aunt Amelia, Uncle Ray, Aunt Diane, Aunt Marilyn, Aunt Coochie as well as nieces Trinity, Bella, Sarah, and nephew Stevie who will all miss her deeply.

Nicole's humor and infectious laughter made every occasion a joyous one. Her selfless nature meant she always put others before herself, offering support and comfort whenever needed. To be loved by Nicole was to know true kindness and to learn from her example was a privilege.

As we bid farewell to Nicole Marie Renshaw, we are reminded of the beauty and love she brought into our lives. Her memory will continue to inspire us to live life with the same generosity and joy that she did. Though she has left this earthly realm, the impact of her life's work and the love she shared will forever be felt by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her.

Nicole's departure from this world was unexpected, but we take comfort in knowing she has joined her parents and many other loved ones. And that she lived a life full of love, laughter, and service to others. Her journey was a beautiful one, and her story will be recounted for generations. Nicole Marie Renshaw will be profoundly missed, yet eternally cherished in the hearts of those she touched.
