Neil Hertenstein
Neil Hertenstein, beloved husband, father, grandfather, relative, and friend, passed peacefully into the Spirit World on September 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 83 years old.
Neil was a man of quiet strength, kindness, integrity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. Throughout his life, he approached both joy and adversity with courage, humility, and determination. He will be remembered for his warm smile, generous heart, gentle spirit, and the countless ways he enriched the lives of family and friends.
Neil shared a loving marriage with his devoted wife, Bertha Leiser (professionally known as Billie Topa Tate). Together they built a life centered on love, faith, friendship, and caring for others. Their bond was one of deep respect, laughter, and unwavering commitment.
Neil was a proud and loving father to his children:

He treasured his family and was happiest when spending time with those he loved. His guidance, wisdom, and quiet encouragement will remain with them always.
Neil is also survived by his extended family, relatives, cherished friends, neighbors, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Neil’s life reflected perseverance and compassion. Even during significant health challenges over the past several years, he remained grateful for the love surrounding him and appreciated every kindness shown by family, friends, and his medical team.
His family finds comfort knowing that love never ends and that his gentle spirit will continue to guide those who loved him.
A Blessing Ceremony - Celebration of Neil’s Life
Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Neil’s life through a Native American blessing and memorial ceremony honoring his journey into the Spirit World.
