Mitchell Aaron Ushkow passed away peacefully on September 2, 2022 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago IL after a private battle with cancer at 50 years of age. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, nee Thornell, and their young son, Saul. Mitch was born on December 5, 1971 in Chicago to Patricia, nee Viken, and the late David Ushkow, with older siblings, Marla Ripperger (Neal) and Michael (Lois). His family later included stepfather, Jerome Davis, and stepmother, Joan Ushkow, and step siblings, Ken Epstein (Jana), Mara Aronson (David) and Randi Smith (Mark). All of his siblings married and had children, becoming nieces and nephews for Mitch to play with until his son was born and enlivened his world.

Mitch is remembered by family, friends, neighbors and clients as kind and welcoming. His generous hospitality to dinner guests revealed his ever-evolving culinary skills for which he was so passionate. His humor, playful spirit and wide range of knowledge entertained us all. His hobbies included appreciating art and design, music, traveling, gardening, cycling, and building vintage bmx bikes. He restored his historical home in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood to meticulous detail with the same attention he provided his clients and their homes.

There is so much more to be said of Mitch, but in the end, he remains entangled in our hearts. We love and miss him so deeply.
