Michelle Renée Brookins was born on August 12, 1975, the first child of Eugene Brookins and Patricia Ann "Pat" Brookins (Jones). She completed her earthly journey as Emmpra Phoenix Ra — a name she chose as a declaration of rebirth, sovereignty, and spiritual awakening. In honoring her today, we honor both: the girl who entered this world as Michelle, and the woman who rose as Emmpra Phoenix Ra.

From the very beginning, Michelle was a helper, a creator, and a light-bringer. She learned how to build by her father's side, how to nourish and care from her mother, and how to lead with love as the eldest of eight — Damon, Jason, Andre, Amber, Adrian, Brandi, and Devin. Strength and tenderness lived side by side in her.

Raised in the church at Bethel Tabernacle, she learned early how to stand firmly in who she was. Though teased for her glasses and modest style, she carried a quiet confidence and resilience that never left her.

Her grandmother, Evatna Jones, opened her eyes to culture, beauty, and possibility. Her Aunt Deborah "Debbie" Jones became her lifelong confidant and anchor, a steady presence through every season, and a source of unwavering love and support. This journey would not have unfolded the same without her.

Michelle's life was one of awakening and miracle. After being told she could not have children, she devoted herself to growth, healing, and spiritual study. Her union with Mark O'Bannon, Bodhisattva, became a catalyst for deep transformation. A simple conversation about the teachings of Osho shifted the course of both of their lives.

In 2014, during a healing journey to Jamaica, the impossible became possible. Her body opened to life, and her daughter Hadore Turiya arrived as living proof that faith, consciousness, and love can transcend limitation. Michelle poured herself into motherhood with intention, teaching her daughter creativity, confidence, discernment, critical thinking, and the joy of seeing value in everything — even in the smallest details.

A lifelong student and teacher, Michelle studied art, fashion, herbal medicine, nutrition, finance, and consciousness. She moved through many professions, but her true calling was always the same: to uplift, to guide, to awaken.

She was magnetic. Her voice made people feel safe. Her words made people feel seen. Astrology, numerology, crystals, philosophy, healing, relationships — she shared them all with warmth and generosity. Strangers became friends in minutes. Hearts opened around her.

Her vision took form as L.O.V.E. the Movement — Lifting Our Vibrational Energy. Beginning on 11-11-2020, she gathered souls every Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in meditation, intention, and collective support. She called them her L.O.V.E. Squad, and together they held space for healing, elevation, and unity.

When illness first entered her life around 2018, Michelle met it with the same strength, faith, and determination that defined her entire journey. She continued to live, love, teach, and serve, never allowing a diagnosis to define the limits of her spirit. When the illness became overwhelming in September 2025, her body finally asked for stillness. Yet even then, her light did not dim. From her bed she continued to offer wisdom, love, and presence.

Michelle's favorite reminder, and the mission she lived by, was simple and powerful:

"Do what you can, while you can."

She embodied those words fully — loving without delay, giving without hesitation, and showing us how to live with intention and courage.

On the morning of January 7, 2026, she transitioned — not as an ending, but as an expansion.

Michelle Brookins became Emmpra Phoenix Ra.

Daughter. Sister. Wife. Mother. Mentor. Mystic. Healer.

A woman who rose, like the Phoenix, and taught us to live now, love now, and serve now.

Her work continues.
