Maura J. Rooney (nee Bingham) age 88 of Chicago, Illinois passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, after dealing with numerous health issues. She passed naturally at home with the comfort of family.

Maura is survived by her children Matthew (Donna) Rooney and Michele Rooney Porter. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kimberly Rooney, Matthew Rooney II and Ross Porter. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Alec Porter.

Maura was a homemaker while raising her children and also discovered a joy in creating with flowers. She enjoyed working as a florist for many years. She also expanded her horizons to live in Las Vegas, Texas and California. Her older years were spent as a caregiver for two close friends comforting their end of life.

She took great pleasure in country music, coffee and loved leopard print on everything.

Maura will be remembered as kind, funny and spirited, with a quick wit that could brighten any room.
