It is with profound sadness that the family of Mary Jani, 60, announces that she passed away on February 16, 2023. Originally from Gweru, Zimbabwe, Mary came to the United States with her husband and children in 1990, where they settled in Chicago, IL. She was an amazing woman of God, a devoted wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother, and an unconditionally caring friend. Mary's dedication, strength, tenacity, and joyous spirit were inspiring to so many.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 28 years, Witness Jani. She is survived by her daughters: Barbara (Luqman) Jani Ashshaheed, Deborah, Thelma, and Whitney Jani. Mary is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren: Noah, Summer, Sydney, and Micah Jani Ashshaheed.
