Mary
Angelica
Mar 7, 1947 — Sep 19, 2023
In fair Chicago, where we lay our scene, a star by the name of Mary M. Angelica has transcended from this mortal coil onto the heavens. Born on the seventh day of the third month in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-seven, she hath returned to the selfsame city on the nineteenth day of the ninth month in the year of our Lord, twenty twenty-three. She was taken by the cruel hand of respiratory failure, following a brief illness that proved a foe too strong for our beloved Mary.
Born to Michael and Kathleen Dever, Mary was a beacon of love and warmth in their lives. She shared her life's journey with her devoted brother, Tom Dever, who stood by her side as a true companion and confidant. Their bond, as strong as the oak, as enduring as the mountains, was a testament to the power of family love.
Mary Angelica, in her professional life, was a stalwart in the insurance industry. She served with distinction and honor, most recently at the renowned Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. Her competence and dedication shone brightly in the realm of her work, casting a light that inspired her peers and subordinates alike. Her integrity and commitment to her profession were as constant as the northern star, guiding her through her illustrious career.
Outside the realm of her profession, Mary was a woman of diverse interests and passions. She found joy in the company of her faithful Chihuahua, Amy, a companion as loyal and loving as any human friend. Her heart danced with delight at the prospect of her monthly poker parties, a tradition she upheld for over twenty-five years with her cherished comrades. Her laughter and mirth were the life of these gatherings, making each one a celebration of friendship and camaraderie.
The serene lake house in Dowagiac, Michigan, the abode of her dear friends Jackie and Rogelio Arreguin, was a place of peace and rejuvenation for Mary. The tranquil surroundings and the warmth of her friends' company were a balm to her soul, a haven away from the hustle and bustle of her city life.
Mary's love for the performing arts was manifested in her frequent sojourns to musicals with her friends Bill, Billie, and Amy. The magic of the stage enchanted her, transporting her to a realm of beauty, emotion, and imagination. Her annual Halloween and dinner parties were legendary, a testament to her flair for hosting and her love for her friends and family.
Thus departs Mary M. Angelica, a woman of substance, a woman of passion, a woman of love. She hath left behind a legacy of love, of joy, of dedication, that shall live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her memory shall be as a sweet melody, echoing through the halls of time, a reminder of a life well-lived.
So, let us not dwell on the sorrow of her departure, but rather, let us celebrate the life she lived. For she hath lived, she hath loved, and she hath left a mark on this world that time itself cannot erase. Farewell, Mary M. Angelica, thou art now a star in the heavens, but thy memory shall forever shine in our hearts.
