Born on September 15, 1953, to the late Dorothy and Claude Foster, Marti's warmth and vivacity were evident from an early age. She was the beloved sister of Solita, who preceded her in death, and the cherished cousin of Shelia, Emily, Joyce, Kay, Paris, Sydney, Greg, Don, Eve, Steve, Natalie, and Lisa.Marti's formative years were spent in the corridors of Parker High School, where she graduated with the class of 1971.

Her passion for learning and community engagement led her to Northeastern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993. Marti's dedication to her education was an inspiration to all who knew her, and her tenacity and spirit were hallmarks of her character.Professionally, Marti was a force of nature. She served with distinction as the Executive Director of the West Humboldt Park Center for Performing Arts, where her vision and leadership left an indelible mark. Marti's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she founded "Brushes and Brooms," a cleaning service.Marti's interests extended beyond her professional endeavors. She was the family historian, passionately tracing genealogical roots and preserving the rich tapestry of her family's legacy.
