White
Nov 12, 1946 — Jul 8, 2025
Marjorie F. White ("Marty"), formerly of Connecticut and most recently of Chicago, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born and raised in Glastonbury, Marty spent most of her life in Connecticut before relocating to Chicago to be closer to family. She was known for her steady strength, sharp wit, and deep care for those around her.
Marty brought a no-nonsense spirit to everything she did, balanced by a generous heart and genuine kindness. Family was always at the center of her life. She dedicated many years to her work as a nurse, offering compassion and comfort to those in her care.
A devoted partner, loving parent, loyal friend, and thoughtful neighbor, Marty was also a lifelong gardener, talented home cook, cross-stitcher, and Sudoku enthusiast. She cherished lively conversations and found great joy in time spent with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marge and Bob White, her brother Bill White, and other beloved family members.
Marty is survived by her partner, Thekie Lein; her daughter, Molly, and son-in-law, Chris Dunbar; and her beloved grandchildren, Emily and Andrew. She also leaves behind her sister, Jeanne LaPorte, and nieces and nephews, Jody LaPorte, Bonnie Nietupski, Melissa Messier, Bill White, and Dawn White, along with many other
cherished relatives and dear friends.
A private interment of her ashes will take place at Old Church Cemetery in Connecticut on Saturday, August 9, with a gathering of family and close friends.
Marty's spirit, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
