Marilynn J
Kenny
Mar 26, 1936 — Feb 15, 2024
Marilynn June Kenny, 87, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on March 26, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. She married Andrew Kenny on December 17, 1966, and they shared 57 years of blissful marriage.
Marilynn was a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew her. She always had a smile on her face, ready with a song in her heart for every occasion. She loved everybody absolutely and was never afraid to show it. She was an avid bird-watcher with a bit of a wild side, burning rubber on the back of Jimmy's motorcycle. She was the director of a Sunday school program who truly loved giving back to her community. She was a faithful follower of Jesus and always reminded others of His love.
Marilynn was the best grandmother anybody could ever wish for. She spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with hugs, kisses, cookies, and stories. She always had a word of wisdom or a joke to share. She taught them to be cheerful givers, and always said good night with a "sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, and God bless." She was their biggest fan.
Marilynn is survived by her loving husband, Andrew Kenny; daughters: Heather and Val; sons-in-law: Kirk and Jimmy; grandchildren: Nate, Lance, MacKenzie, Connor, Colin, and Tiarnan; great-grandchildren: Braden, Logan, Everett, and Camden; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mabel Wright.
A celebration of Marilynn's life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Theis-Gorski Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chicago, Illinois (3517 N Pulaski Rd).
Marilynn will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, joy, and faith will live on in their hearts. She is now singing with the angels in heaven, where she belongs.
