Margaret Goodloe, a radiant soul and beloved matriarch, was born on the 10th of August, 1934, in Birmingham, AL, and passed away peacefully of natural causes in Chicago, IL, on the 12th of August, 2023.
A woman of grace, poise, and profound wisdom, she touched countless lives with her radiant smile and nurturing spirit. Educated and skilled, Margaret pursued her passion for helping others by becoming a Certified Radiologic Technologist. She committed her life to healthcare, serving with dedication and compassion at the University of Chicago, Cook County Hospital (now Stroger), and Provident Hospital. Her commitment to her profession, her patients, and her colleagues was unparalleled, earning her immense respect and admiration.
Margaret was a devoted mother to her son, Horace Goodloe, and her daughter, Leslie Goodloe Hall. She was also a cherished mother-in-law to Earl Hall, and a doting grandmother to Shayna Goodloe. She is also survived by her brother, Arthur Lee Nelson, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends. Her family was the center of her universe, and she embraced every moment spent with them.
Margaret had a flair for fashion and loved to dress up and go out. She was often the best-dressed woman in the room, turning heads with her elegance and style. Her sense of fashion was not merely superficial; it was a reflection of her vibrant spirit and love for life.
The beloved Margaret Goodloe, a beacon of light, has now embarked on her final journey. As we remember her, we find solace in the words of Emily Dickinson, "Unable are the loved to die. For love is immortality." Margaret's love will forever echo in our hearts, her wisdom will guide us, and her memory will inspire us to live with kindness, courage, and grace.
To Margaret, we say goodbye, with hearts full of love and eyes filled with tears. For her love and her legacy, we will cherish for years. She was a mother, a grandmother, a friend so dear. In our hearts, her memory we will forever bear. So, let's raise a toast to Margaret Goodloe, a life well-lived indeed. A woman of substance, who planted love's seed. Her life was a journey, a beautiful ride. In our hearts, her spirit will forever reside. In the words of Alfred Lord Tennyson, "Though much is taken, much abides." Though we mourn Margaret's passing, we take comfort in the love, wisdom, and values she imparted, which will forever abide in our hearts. Her life was a beautiful poem, and her memory will continue to inspire us. She will be missed, but her memory will be a treasure we will forever keep. As we bid her farewell, let us remember her not in sorrow, but in gratitude for the love, wisdom, and joy she brought into our lives.
