Louis George Hurth, known affectionately as Lou by his friends and family, passed away on June 22, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on May 5, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, Lou's life was a testament to his enduring love for the natural world and the written word.

Lou grew up in the bustling city of Chicago but found his true calling in the serene landscapes that he would later shape and nurture as a professional landscaper. After graduating from Reavis High School, Lou dedicated his life to transforming the outdoors into spaces of beauty and tranquility. His green thumb and artistic eye brought joy to many.

Lou is survived by his brothers, Joseph and Francis Hurth and sister Mary Spatz.
