Lisa Heifetz Robertson

Lisa H. Robertson, beloved wife, stepmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois. She was 81 years old.

Lisa was born on May 10, 1945, in Poland, to Jacob and Fania Heifetz, who both preceded her in death. As a young child, Lisa and her family survived the Holocaust, an experience that shaped her life and remained an important part of her family’s history. In 1949, the family resettled in Madison, Wisconsin, in the Greenbush neighborhood.

Lisa enjoyed a long and accomplished career as a flight attendant with American Airlines, where she worked for 42 years. She took pleasure in learning new languages in preparation for her international flights. Her career allowed her to travel extensively, experience the world, and form lifelong friendships along the way.

Lisa and her beloved husband, John Robertson, lived in Bay Head, New Jersey, before moving to Chicago in 2001. They made their home there, where Lisa became an active and valued member of the community. She was involved with the Streeterville Organization of Active Residents (SOAR), was a member of the O’Hare Kiwi chapter of American Airlines flight attendants, and volunteered with Ronald McDonald House. These commitments reflected her generous spirit and dedication to helping others.

Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Robertson, and her parents, Jacob and Fania Heifetz.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Elizabeth Robertson-Christ and her husband, Lawrence, and Charles Robertson; Elizabeth’s children, Katherine and Alex; and her siblings and their families: Edie DuMary, husband Tom and son Tommy; Pauline Heifetz and daughter Allie; Lawrence Heifetz and daughters, Shayna and Bria; and Steve Heifetz, wife Judy and daughter Jordan and son Josh.

Lisa will be remembered for her resilience, warmth, adventurous spirit, and caring nature. Her remarkable life touched many people, and she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
