Lisa Lewis-Montgomery was called home by her Heavenly Father on June 3, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on August 8, 1962, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Lisa's life spanned 62 years, during which she touched countless lives with her friendly spirit and passionate heart.

Lisa was a cherished daughter, sister, and mother. She was preceded in death by her devoted mother, Florence Lewis, her father, Henry Lewis and her brothers, Jerome Lewis, Frederick Jones, Calvin Lewis and Kelvin Ray Jones. Her legacy lives on through her son, Marquis Montgomery, and her siblings, Emma Lee, Stephanie Gant, Monica Lewis Hardman and Roger Lewis.

A proud graduate of Woodlawn High School, Lisa carried the lessons learned and friendships made there throughout her life. Her faith in Christ was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her in all her endeavors and providing solace during her times of trial.

Lisa's passion for community service was a testament to her belief in being the hands and feet of Jesus in the world. She dedicated herself to helping those in need, offering her time and resourcesl to people who crossed her path. Her unwavering dedication to bettering the lives of others was an inspiration to many who knew her.

An avid exerciser, Lisa found joy and solace in jogging along the shores of Lake Michigan. The tranquility of the water and the rhythm of her steps were a source of meditation and reflection for her. This simple pleasure was a cherished part of her routine, a testament to her appreciation for the beauty found in everyday moments.

Lisa's presence was characterized by an infectious friendliness that drew people to her. Her spirited nature was a wellspring of energy that motivated those around her to strive for their best. Her passionate approach to life, fueled by her unwavering faith, encouraged everyone she met to live fully and love deeply.

As we mourn the loss of Lisa Lewis-Montgomery, we also celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives. Her spirit, though no longer with us in body, will continue to guide and inspire us.
