Obituary

Lawrence John Cook, 76, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025. Born in Aurora, Illinois, he was the beloved son of the late John and Patricia Cook and brother to the late Janet (Oscar) Kasper.

Lawrence was a devoted husband to Karen (DeBruler) and a loving father to his three daughters: Angella (Richard) Buchanan, Amy (Matthew) Wilson, and Jennifer (Jason) Greenbaum. He cherished his grandchildren—Hunter, Lauren, Jaylun, Luke, and Sophie -who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings Michael (Patrice) Cook and Ruth (Joseph) Wharton.

A proud veteran, Larry took great pride in his military service. He was also a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Council #623 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Marion, Indiana. Known for his passion as a handyman, Lawrence found joy in creating and fixing things. He also loved taking cruises with his wife, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

A celebration of life mass will be held on February 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 11301 West 93rd Avenue, St. John, Indiana. A luncheon will follow in Trinity Hall beneath the church.
