We regretfully announce the passing of Kayhon Taher Safavi of Lincolnshire, IL., a beloved member of our family, who left us on November 18, 2023, following a tragic vehicle accident. Born on September 2, 1965, in Chicago, IL, Kayhon was a kind, generous, and funny individual who touched the lives of many.

Kayhon was the cherished brother of Kaveh and Tahereh Safavi, and the son of Saideh and Taher Safavi. He was predeceased by his brother Kayvon Safavi. His family remembers him as a beacon of positivity and warmth, always ready with a kind word or a funny anecdote to lighten the mood.

He grew up in Park Ridge where he graduated from Maine South High School and spent his early professional life as a videographer following groups like Ozzy Osbourne backstage. His love for performance led him to the Chicago Lyric Opera, where he was a regular supernumerary actor.

Kayhon had a deep love for the natural world and the cosmos. He found solace in stargazing, often sharing his observations and knowledge with those around him. He also enjoyed long, peaceful walks in the woods, where he found inspiration and tranquility. Kayhon was a man of simple pleasures, and his love for road trips, heavy metal rock and roll, and watching professional wrestling were well-known amongst his friends and family.

As Dr. Seuss once said, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." This quote perfectly encapsulates Kayhon's approach to life. He believed in cherishing the moments and living life to the fullest. His infectious laughter and generous spirit will be greatly missed, but his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
