Kathleen M. Knaus, 91, of Wheaton, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Donald E. Knaus.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Steve Knaus; Charlotte Monhart (Jim); Marilyn Gruber (John); and Diane Bojic (Steve). She was a proud grandmother to Colleen Fitzgerald (Shane), Clare Wierzel (Matthew), Matthew Monhart (Kaleigh), Maureen Knaus, and Alyssa Knaus. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Kathleen and Don's life together was marked by adventure and opportunity as they relocated across the country throughout Don's career. Their journey took them from Columbia, Missouri, to Kansas City, Missouri; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Fort Worth, Texas; and Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, before they ultimately settled in Wheaton, Illinois, where they happily spent the next 38 years. Along the way, they formed countless lifelong friendships that enriched their lives.

Kathleen treasured time spent with family and friends. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed tennis and golf, and generously devoted her time to charitable organizations, including Welcome Wagon and DuPage Metropolitan Family Services.

Known for her warm heart, infectious Irish spirit, and remarkable gift for bringing people together, Kathleen delighted in planning parties and creating memorable gatherings for family and friends. Her kindness, hospitality, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
