Kathleen Kerwin-Jones, lovingly known as Kathy or KK, entered eternal rest on November 15, 2022 in Chicago, IL.

A lifelong resident of Collinsville, IL, Kathy grew up loving all animals and devoted much of her life to the love and care of strays, rescues, and any puppy that would find the warmth of her lap.

An avid card player, Kathy enjoyed opening her home to family and friends for long games of Uno or Spades. Her greatest joy was extending an open door to her home where many came to spend summer's swimming or grabbing a cup of coffee and a chat.

She married John Jones on February 6, 1981 in St. Louis, MO and created a family with him, their daughter, Jennifer, their son, Floyd, their godson, Terrence Pruitt as well as a host of grandsons, granddaughters, nieces and nephews that considered her their "Second Mom".

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Jones, and her father and mother, David and Angelina Kerwin. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Jones (Andrae McPherson) of Chicago, her son Floyd Jones (Amanda) of St. Louis/Phoenix, AZ, her granddaughter, Miley Jones, her grandsons, Floyd Jones, Martin Jones and Alonzo Benard, as well as a host of dear friends and family.

A Ceremony of Life will be held on Sunday, November 20th with a memorial to follow at a future date.

In lieu of flowers and cards, the family has asked to sponsor a rescue cat or dog in Kathy's name at a rescue of your choice.
