John Allen
Collins
Mar 24, 1965 — Jun 7, 2025
John Allen Collins, a cherished son, brother, and beacon of faith, was called home by the Lord on June 7, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on March 24, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, the city that he loved and never left, John's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and faith. His journey on earth may have concluded in the same city where it began, but his spirit and legacy are as boundless as the heavens.
As the beloved son of Jay Collins and the late Carol Albino, John was a source of boundless joy and pride to his family. He was a loving brother to Cheryl Collins, Alicia Sharp, and the late Vickie Collins. John's life was a reflection of the family's love and the Christian values they held dear.
John went to business school and learned how to play multiple instruments. His music was one of his many passions in life.
John's fervor for learning and teaching knew no bounds. He was an ardent student of languages, embracing not only the spoken word but also the silent poetry of American Sign Language. His ability to communicate in multiple languages was not merely an intellectual pursuit but a means to connect with more of God's children, to spread the Good News, and to inspire inclusivity within the community.
In his life, John embodied the spirit of a motivational speaker, always eager to uplift those around him. He lived by the words of the Apostle Paul, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). This verse was not only an inspiration to John but also a motto that he shared generously, encouraging others to find strength and purpose through their faith.
Indeed, John's life was a living sermon, a narrative of love, learning, and unwavering faith. To have known him was to have glimpsed a reflection of Christ's love. John's departure from this world is not a goodbye but a transition to a new life in the presence of his Savior, where he is surely welcomed with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
As we celebrate John's life, we are reminded that each day is a gift and an opportunity to create a melody of hope and a legacy of love. John Allen Collins lived a life that echoed the eternal. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, as his soul finds rest in the eternal embrace of his Creator.
