Obituary

Jerold Scott Rawson (1947-2025) passed away peacefully on March 28th, 2025. Affectionately known as "Jerry" to his friends and family, he was a dedicated husband, loving father, the "fun" grandfather and generous friend to many. Jerry's witty intellect, charismatic personality, amazing sense of humor, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Jerry pursued his passion for the law which set the stage for a distinguished career as a lawyer. Beyond his professional life, Jerry had a deep affection for dogs, a craving for sweets, and a love for socializing. He was rarely seen without one of the family dogs walking by his side in Northbrook or Elk Grove. Described by those who knew him best as funny and kind, Jerry's impact on the world was as profound as it was heartfelt. His ability to tell stories was unparalleled, and his presence in a crowd was a source of warmth and laughter.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ellen Rawson, and their daughters, Nicole Araujo (Louis Araujo), and Kyla Reicin (Kael Reicin). He was a proud grandfather to Alexa and Drew Araujo, as well as Brennen, Haven, and Kassidy Reicin. He leaves behind his brother Kenneth Rawson, and joins in eternity his parents, Harvey and Ruth Rawson, and his brother Donald Rawson.

The Rawson family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have been a part of Jerry's life. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared and the laughter he inspired. If you would like to share a story about Jerry, please join the family on April 26th at North Branch Burger and Pizza Co in Glenview from 4:00 - 7:00.
