Javier Antonio Botero was born on February 18, 1970 in Caicedonia, Colombia. He was born to Javier Antonio Botero and Daisy Argueyes. Javier grew up with the Botero Family since the young age of three and was soon nicknamed "Javier Nene" for being the youngest in the home. He was loved and cared for like a little brother by his uncles and like a son by aunts and grandmother, Maria Heronia Poveda. In 1982, at the age of 12 he immigrated to Chicago with the Botero family. He went on to graduate from Roosevelt High School and later worked in several body shops, working on cars, a skill he learned from his uncles. He met his lifelong partner and soulmate of almost 25 years, Maribel Ares, in 1994 when he was 24 years old. They started their life together and had three children; Christopher, Jonathan and Jaylene. Javier was a loving husband and father who was dedicated to caring for wife and children. They remember him for his good nature, sense of humor, and friendliness with everyone he met. His laugh and humor were one of a kind. They admire that he always tried his best to be there for them, despite the hardships that he struggled to overcome.
