Janice Christine (Pettit) Meeks, 70, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026 in Chicago following complications from heart surgery earlier this year.

Janice was born on September 27,1955 in Wabash, Indiana to the late David Howard Pettit and Erma Jean (Voris) Pettit. She was the loving mother of two sons, David and Christopher Gressley. Her oldest son, David, preceded her in death in 2001, She is survived by her youngest son Christopher Gressley and his Children.

She is also survived by her brothers, Greg (Gabi) Pettit of Wabash, Indiana and Jeffrey (Kathy) Pettit of Garrett, Indiana. Janice shared a special bond with many in her life, including Reggie Meeks, her former husband and faithful friend, who remained by her side for many years.

Janice grew up at Yellow Creek Lake, where she developed a lifelong love for swimming and boating. She was lighthearted and sociable, always enjoying time spent visiting with neighbors, friends, and family. She found joy attending church, gardening, and caring for her cats.

Janice will be deeply loved and remembered by all who knew her.

No funeral services will be held.
