James Willie Rogers, known affectionately as JW to his friends and family, left this world for his eternal journey on October 30, 2024, on the same date he graced it with his presence 78 years ago in 1946.

He leaves to cherish his memories of two children, James Alexander Rogers and Lawanda Renee Robinson. His cherished grandchildren, Yasmine, Madison, and Alex Rogers. JW was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Shirleen Rogers, one sister Mary Taylor and one brother John Rogers. He also leaves behind a loving niece, several nephews, and a host of cousins, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Fishing was JW's passion and pastime. His love for the sport was infectious, and many family bonding moments were spent at the lake, rod in hand, and laughter in the air.

As we bid farewell to JW, his stories and laughter will forever be etched in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
