James Brown was born December 18, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois to

the late Nelson and Carmelita Brown. He departed life on

Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at home.

He was united at holy matrimony on November 21, 1974, to Dorothy

and Newsome Brown (Dot). God bless this universe six children, 14

grandchildren and one great grandchild, Skyler.

James was a great mechanic. He could fix any car he needed to. He

also taught others how to do the same.

He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Terrel Brown,

three brothers, one sister, and one grandson, Malik Talley.

He leaves to cherish his memories: A loving and devoted wife, and a

best friend, for 54 years, Mrs. Dorothy and Newsome of Chicago,

Illinois, four daughters, Annette Newsome Brown of Chicago, Illinois,

Nakita Newsome Brown, of Chicago, Illinois, Monica Newsome,

Abdul-Rahman of Chicago, Illinois, Doris Dominique Brown of

Chicago, IL, and one son James Brown Jr. Byrd of Chicago, Illinois, 13

grandchildren, a great grandchild of Chicago, Illinois, Skyler Welton,

two sisters, Theresa Wilson and Jimmy Proof, one brother Ronald

Brown all of Chicago, Illinois, a host of nieces, nephews, other

relatives and friends.
