Hilda Esperanza Mendez was the most gentle, caring, and loving person, and she showed this not only as a mother, but as daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend to countless individuals. Hilda, 66, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Tetecala, Morelos, Mexico, passed away March 22, 2022. Beloved spouse of Felipe Mendez for 39 strong years. Cherished sibling to Felipe Sotelo, Raul Sotelo, Margarita Sotelo, Jose Sotelo, and Irma Sotelo. She is survived by Felipe Mendez and his partner Jeff Spano, Dolores Mendez and her husband Juan Maldonado, Alejandro Mendez and his partner Jillian Wilner, Xochitl Reaves and her husband Ignacio Santoyo, Cristina Maldonado, and Sarahi Maldonado. Hilda was a hard worker and a valuable member at Swisher/Ecolab for more than 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending hours reading or knitting and was always up for a dance. Hilda will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
