On the week of his fifty-first birthday Henry deVos Lawrie III passed away peacefully with his family by his side after experiencing cardiac arrest two days prior.

Henry was born in Chicago to Audrey M. Lawrie, Henry Lawrie, Jr. and resided in Northfield, Il and Wilmette, IL his entire life. After graduating from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Henry attended Kendall College for three years. Henry first worked at The Kohl's Children's Museum for several years. He then took a position as a teaching assistant at The Cove School for children with learning disabilities. He worked at Cove for 23 years. During his free time he often went to Ludington, Michigan for summers where his grandparents resided at a resort known as Epworth. Henry was very active in the Epworth community forming many close relationships throughout his childhood and adult years. While in Michigan Henry enjoyed going fishing and boating. He was also known for being a movie fan (Stephen King) and music buff.

Henry is survived by his mother Audrey, his father Hank, step-mother Debra, brothers Clayton (Michele), Cameron (Beth) and Travis (Kaitlin), his nephews Harrison, Chase and Declan, and his niece Sloane. Henry was a devoted Son, Brother and Uncle.

Family and friends will remember Henry's sense of humor, gentle nature, and incredible memory for facts. He would often surprise family members by recounting a scenario from many years earlier with the utmost amount of detail. A Memorial service will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1024 Lake Avenue, Wilmette, IL January 25, 2025 at 10:30 AM.
