Obituary

Gerardo Marciales Campos, 41, died unexpectedly on March 2nd. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many. He is survived by his devoted mother, Mireya Campos, his sisters Dubraska (Rafael) and Mayra, or as Gerardo called her Pajaro, (John) and nieces Valentina and Isabella, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his loving fiancee Jaime Bolognone. Gerardo was born and raised in Venezuela and moved to the United States in 2014. Gerardo had a love for computers and Information Technology. A job offer at Cisco Systems brought him to Chicago where he found his home. Gerardo was very proud to work as a Technical Consulting Engineer for Cisco. He also always had many other projects he was working on along with studying to learn more skills, giving presentations to colleagues, helping others to resolve their technical issues and writing articles that only very intelligent people could understand. Although separated by oceans his family was always close to his heart and they messaged, talked on the phone or FaceTimed every day. Anyone who knew Gerardo was touched by his kindness, fun-loving nature and big smile. He had a tremendous effect on everyone around him and always brought people together making them feel as if they were part of his family. He was always a source of positivity and generosity. His biggest smiles were when he was with Jaime and every day they spent together was full of love and laughter. Gerardo will be desperately missed by all he has left behind. Our hearts are broken by this sudden loss. He was one of a kind and to be loved by him was to be truly blessed. Gerardo gave in death as he gave in life and was an organ donor. At this time there will be no formal ceremony, only a private gathering to celebrate Gerardo's life. Please give kindness to others as Gerardo did and take care of each other.
