George Wright Jewell, age 86, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 in Chicago. He was born in Chicago in 1935 to the late George and Faye (Wright) Jewell.  George was the loving husband to the late Rita Martha (Pszczola) Jewell and the doting father of the late Sharon Lee (Jewell) Gottschalk. "Gramps" is survived by his fond grandchildren Kelli (Ryan), T.J., Cody, and Kristin (Jered) and 5 great grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Diane ( the late Robert) Farina and the late Jerry (Fran) Jewell. He was the proud oldest cousin of the Jewell clan; fond uncle and great-uncle to many and good friend & neighbor to all that knew him. George worked at RR Donnelley & Sons for many years, followed by a stint at Playboy Magazine and was a salesman at Sears. George and Rita bought The Caravan Motel in Harrisonville, Missouri. They ran the business for 9 years before returning to the Chicagoland area. A memorial will be planned at a later date.
